Macey From Ellen Show Meets Greatest Living President

May 2, 2016

Former President George W. Bush gave 6-year-old Macey Hensley the thrill of her life last week when he surprised her while she was visiting the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas, Texas.

Macey, a presidential expert who can name every American commander-in-chief and even provide trivia on each of them, visited the Bush Center courtesy of Ellen , which showed clips of her visit while having Macey on as a guest.

Macey did not make the trip alone, bringing her George W. Bush ventriloquist doll along with her. The pair first got a tour of the center’s museum, during which she gave a preliminary campaign speech, saying, "Teachers get paid more."

She was then brought to the library’s replica Oval Office and sat behind the big desk. After Macey pressed a button, George W. and Laura Bush walked into the room to the surprise and delight of Macey, who had an excited smile on her face.

"That looks just like me," the former president said, pointing to the ventriloquist dummy after introducing himself to Macey.

Bush gave Macey a tour of his oval office, first showing her a portrait of George Washington, whom she identified without being told.

"He actually brushed his horse’s teeth instead of his," Macey said.

"Now that’s an interesting fact," Bush replied.

Macey then asked if Laura was the best first lady ever because "she never embarrassed her country or you," pointing to the former president.

"Yes, in my mind she is the best first lady," Bush said. "One time I said that at a speech, and I realized my mother was in the audience."

Macey got the joke.

Bush then practiced his ventriloquist skills with Macey’s doll, saying that the 6-year-old is a cute and smart person.

Macey then asked if Laura wanted to give it a try.

"Sure, I’ve been trying to do this forever!" the former first lady said, taking the doll.

George W. Bush then introduced Macey to his new hobby, painting. The two worked on a painting of show host Ellen DeGeneres outside together, which Macey gave to the TV host on air.

Macey, whom Ellen introduced to President Barack Obama in February, said she intends to run for president in 2048. She is no doubt on her way, making some powerful connections early on in the process.
