Death Threats to Joan Rivers Poured in Following Pro-Israel Comments

Hired bodyguard after rant during Gaza war

Comedian Joan Rivers, who passed away last week, received death threats following pro-Israel comments made during Israel’s conflict with Gaza, the Times of Israel reports.

She was so concerned about her safety that she hired a personal bodyguard.

"When she came out and said Israel had every right to bomb Hamas, the death threats started rolling in," Blaire Trump, vice chair of God’s Love We Trust, a charity with Rivers on the board, told the Hollywood Reporter.

"You cannot throw rockets and expect people not to defend themselves," Rivers told TMZ during the rant on the most recent war between Israel and Hamas. "If New Jersey were firing rockets into New York, we would wipe them out!"

The rant received so much attention that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly requested a meeting with Rivers.
