Comedian Samantha Bee said on Monday that she will be throwing a party to "roast" President Trump on the same day as the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner in April.

Bee is the host of her own news satire show on TBS, "Full Frontal with Samantha Bee," which is intended for a more liberal audience.

The comedian is set to host what is being called "Not the White House Correspondents' Dinner" gala on April 29 at the Willard Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Bee plans to roast Donald Trump during the event.

"We just want to be there in case something happens–or doesn't happen–and ensure that we get to properly roast the president," Bee told the New York Times.

The White House Correspondents' Dinner has been held annually for decades. The event, held by the White House Correspondents' Association, hosts journalists and politicians to advocate press accessibility.
