A $1 million dollar donation to the Obama campaign apparently is not enough for Bill Maher to snag David Axelrod, one of the campaign's senior advisers and a close confidant of the president, as a guest on his talk show.
Despite reports that Axelrod was scheduled to appear on "Real Time with Bill Maher," an Obama campaign spokesperson told Politico yesterday, "He's not scheduled to go on at this time."
Maher has come under criticism in recent days for telling jokes that some see as sexist and for using derogatory terms for Sarah Palin and other conservative women.
Politico further notes:
Axelrod’s cold feet are not the only sign that the right’s attacks on Maher seem to be gaining some traction.
On Thursday, The Daily Caller reported that the Alabama Democratic Party had scrubbed its website of an announcement for its upcoming fundraiser headlined by Maher.
