The Lonely Island's 'Spring Break Anthem'

May 8, 2013

Rap fans often marvel at the stellar production values and decent rapping pumped out by hip-hop comedy trio the Lonely Island. In the vein of classics 'I’m On a Boat' and 'No Homo,' 'Spring Break Anthem' straight knocks.

While 'Spring Break Anthem' is not as strong a lead single as 'We’re Back,' it combines the Lonely Island’s affinity for the early 00’s Dipset-esque horns with the absurdity of Michael Bolton reading an IMDB page on 'Jack Sparrow.'

And in true Lonely Island fashion, James Franco, fresh off his role in Spring Breakers, surreally introduces the video in a chapter of Zach Galifianakis’s 'Between Two Ferns.'
