What happened: Vice President Kamala Harris was on the receiving end of a humiliating fact check after claiming in an interview that people like her and approve of her job performance.
• "There are polls that also say I have great approval ratings," Harris told ABC News last month in response to a question about the (actual) polls that show Harris with "the lowest approval rating of any vice president."
• PolitiFact, a left-wing media firm, assessed Harris's claim to be false, noting that "Among more than 100 publicly released polls dating to October 2021, none shows Vice President Kamala Harris with approval ratings that outweigh disapproval ratings."
Why it matters: The truth is our most precious national resource. To tarnish it as Harris is assessed to have done so blatantly is like placing one's jackboot on the neck of American democracy as we know it. Shame on her!
• It's also very embarrassing. Harris lied about being popular and a left-wing media outlet was forced to call her out and remind her that she is widely despised. If she had just blamed it all on racism and sexism, PolitiFact would have nodded in agreement.
Our verdict: The Washington Free Beacon gives Kamala Harris 4 Sad Washingtons for undermining American democracy with misinformation.
