VIDEO: Richard Sherman's Domestic Violence Arrest Foreshadowed by Thug-Like Behavior

Media declared it racist to criticize his angry outbursts

Unemployed football player Richard Sherman was arrested last week in Seattle on a felony burglary domestic violence charge after trying to break into his in-laws' house. The incident occurred roughly seven and a half years after Sherman delivered an unhinged outburst on live television following the 2014 NFC Championship game.

Many observers criticized Sherman for his obnoxious display of anger after the game, including some who described his behavior as "thug-like." Professional pundits accused Sherman's critics, who have since been vindicated, of exhibiting racism and using the modern-day equivalent of the n-word.

Perhaps the angry outburst foreshadowed the behavior that led to Sherman's arrest last week. Video of the alleged crime showed a visibly enraged Sherman yelling obscenities while attempting to break down the door to the home. Screams of terror can be heard coming from inside the house. Sherman's wife Ashley Moss described him as "drunk and belligerent" in a 911 phone call, the audio of which was obtained by TMZ.

Prior to the attempted break-in, Sherman reportedly drove his car while intoxicated and narrowly avoided a fatal head-on collision. When authorities ultimately arrived at his in-laws' house, Sherman resisted arrest and had to be apprehended by a police dog.

Sherman's felony charge was dropped after his arrest. The former NFL star would end up pleading not guilty to five misdemeanor charges, including criminal trespass in the second degree with a domestic violence element, reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, resisting arrest, and malicious mischief with a domestic violence element.

Sherman is the only Free Beacon Man of the Year winner in history to have his award rescinded. After receiving the honor in 2014, Sherman was stripped of his title after appearing in a government propaganda video urging Americans to sign up for Obamacare. It's safe to say that his recent criminal behavior has earned him a lifetime ban.

Prior to becoming an unemployed free agent, Sherman appeared in Super Bowl LIV in 2020 as a member of the San Francisco, aka "Poop City," 49ers. Before the big game, he expressed "doubt" as to whether he'd accept President Donald Trump's invitation to the White House if the 49ers won.

They did not.
