Warren Dodges Questions on Oprah Potentially Running for President in 2020

(Updated)

Democratic Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.) on Monday dodged multiple questions from TMZ about billionaire talk-show host Oprah Winfrey mulling a 2020 presidential bid.

"Ms. Warren, the world is buzzing that Oprah will run for president. What do you think her chances are?" the TMZ reporter asked.

"I don't know about that. I'm just glad to see her using her voice out there," Warren responded. "She is a strong and powerful woman who has a lot to say."

The reporter then asked Warren if she would be Oprah's vice presidential running mate if she decided to run.

Warren laughed and appeared to say "you know" before praising Winfrey's leadership.

"Oprah is a great leader and I'm just delighted to see her," Warren said.

Warren has seemed to be positioning herself for a 2020 presidential run, but she has said multiple times in recent months that she is focusing on her 2018 reelection bid to the Senate.

UPDATED Tuesday, 9:44 A.M.: This story was updated to clarify that Warren appeared to say "you know" rather than "no" before praising Winfrey's leadership, although the audio is unclear.
