2017 has been marked by an inability, mostly by CNN, to ignore President Trump when other things require urgent attention. That wasn't a problem for Frank Giaccio.

Frank had the courage to write a letter offering his lawn mowing services to President Donald Trump.

"It would be my honor to mow the White House lawn some weekend for you," Frank wrote. "Even though I'm only ten, I would like to show the nation what young people like me are ready for."

Frank got straight to the point and made clear he was coming prepared for anything.

"Here's a list of what I have and you are free to pick what ever you want: power mower, push mower, and weed whacker," the wise-beyond-his-years entrepreneur wrote. "I can bring extra fuel for the power mower and charged batteries for the weed whacker."

Frank offered his services for free—he wanted to charge his standard $8 fee but was regrettably convinced to waive it by his dad—and the president took his offer.

On the morning of September 15, a legend was born on the White House grounds.

Frank showed up sporting the requisite mowing gloves, glasses, and earplugs. He also came with a determination to cut down every blade of grass that came before him and a concentration not even Trump could break. When the president came out to greet Frank, he just kept mowing: unruly grass waits for no man, not even the president.

Trump appeared to understand Frank's determination to mow the lawn, a serious task that has proven difficult for lesser men. Trump gave Frank a quick high-five and pat on the back and then let him get back to the business of slashing grass with precision.

His efforts earned high marks. Trump praised Frank as the "future of the country."

Frank later joined Trump in the Oval Office. He told the president he was going to be a U.S. Navy SEAL one day, which led to Trump's prediction that Frank is "going to do great things for the country."

Notified that Frank was being honored with a Washington Free Beacon Man of the Year award, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders offered a congratulatory note praising his "enterprising and ambitious spirit."

"Frank embodies the enterprising and ambitious spirit of America and it was our honor to have him at the White House this year," Sanders said. "The Rose Garden has never looked better!"
