An individual is in custody after jumping over a barrier just south of the White House on Tuesday.
The suspect jumped over a concrete barrier along E St., according to the U.S. Secret Service’s Twitter account. The action caused the Secret Service to close the south fence line, a popular spot for tourist to take pictures of the White House.

In March, the White House was put on lockdown after an individual jumped a bike-rack barrier on the perimeter of the residence. Security has been under particular scrutiny since 2014 when a man made it inside the East Room with a knife in his pocket, sparking a congressional investigation.
