Former Fox News host Bill O'Reilly said during an appearance on the "Glenn Beck Show" Friday that "Fox News has a problem," and doesn't appear to have a plan to deal with its current primetime ratings crisis.
O'Reilly weighed in on MSNBC's recent win streak in the cable news ratings, supplanting Fox's former dominant position.
Beck noted MSNBC host Rachel Maddow being the top draw in cable news, and asked whether Fox would have to "work hard to hold its place."
"Fox News has a problem, there's no doubt about it," he said. "Whenever you lose key personnel in any industry ... you better have a plan, and it doesn't look like FNC has a plan."
All four Fox primetime shows on Thursday came in third place for the coveted 25-to-54 demographic behind both MSNBC and CNN. Maddow in particular has seen a ratings surge.
O'Reilly said the "Trump haters" are going to MSNBC, which is reaping the benefits from the controversies plaguing the White House.
Fox's primetime lineup has been upended over the past year, most significantly with O'Reilly's firing in April resulting from a swarm of sexual harassment allegations made against him. While host of "The O'Reilly Factor," he routinely was the top cable news draw every night.
In addition, former Fox primetime hosts Megyn Kelly and Greta Van Susteren have gone to NBC and MSNBC, respectively.
"On the Fox News side, you know, they made their decisions," he said. "They didn't have to make those decisions, and they really didn't have a plan. When you take a guy like me out of the lineup, and I'm doing five, six million viewers a night, you better have a plan to replace that."
O'Reilly praised Tucker Carlson, who currently has his time slot, but he repeated that Fox didn't have "a plan."
