Sen. Jeff Sessions (R., Ala.) was on Capitol Hill all day Tuesday for his Senate confirmation hearing to be attorney general in President-elect Donald Trump's Cabinet.
Protesters from Code Pink and Black Lives Matter interrupted the hearing multiple times. One group of protesters accused Sessions of being a racist dressing up as members of the Ku Klux Klan.
Sessions and the Senate panel generally ignored the protesters.
The confirmation hearing is scheduled to continue into Wednesday.
