The Congressional Leadership Fund is out with a new ad targeting Democrat LuAnn Bennett, who is running for Congress against incumbent Rep. Barbara Comstock (R.) in Virginia, for supporting taxes on voters' health care plans.
The ad's narrator mentions Bennett's support for taxes on health insurance plans and the medical device tax.
"While middle-class families struggle to afford the care they need and to care for those who need them, LuAnn Bennett supports a health care plan that taxes the insurance policies families rely on," the ad says. "And Bennett supports higher taxes on the medical devices our most vulnerable need to survive, because LuAnn Bennett cares more about politics than the people she wants to serve."
Bennett and Comstock are running in the competitive 10th congressional district of Virginia right outside of Washington, D.C. Comstock is finishing up her first term in Congress after succeeding fellow Republican Frank Wolf, who held the seat for over three decades.
Bennett was married to former Rep. Jim Moran (D., Va.) from 2004 to 2010.
