Vice President Joe Biden joked on Monday it is "embarrassing" that his net worth is less than that of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.), a self-proclaimed socialist.
Biden was touting Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton’s "fair" tax plan before changing the conversation to his grandchildren.
"I aspire for one of my grandchildren to become wealthy so when they put me in the home, I’ll get a window with a view," the vice president said.
Biden then joked it’s "embarrassing" that Sanders is worth more than him.
"As I pointed out, it was embarrassing that Bernie Sanders’ net worth is more than mine," Biden said. "I have less money than a socialist. I don’t know what the hell happened to me."
"I have been doing this for 44 years. You think I’m kidding. I’m not kidding, unfortunately," Biden added.
