Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager Robby Mook refused to say Monday whether he or other campaign staffers knew Clinton had contracted pneumonia before her fainting incident in New York on Sunday.
After the incident occurred, the campaign announced Sunday evening that Clinton had been diagnosed with pneumonia on Friday.
"I am not going to get into details of her medical determination. She made a determination that she will power through it and did not want to affect anything," Mook said when MSNBC host Kate Snow asked if he knew of her diagnosis.
Snow asked Mook how he was feeling after reports emerged Monday that other campaign staffers had come down with an "ugly bug."
"A lot of us got sick the last few weeks. I came in a few more days than I should have and I am still recovering from the cough that I got," Mook said.
Snow later returned to her initial question about Clinton’s sickness but did not get a clear response.
"I am reading between the lines of what you are saying that the staff did not know that she had pneumonia?" Snow asked.
Mook tried to deflect the question by placing the blame on Donald Trump.
"Donald Trump has not released a single piece of information about his health," Mook said.
Snow continued to press Mook, asking, "Did staff know she had pneumonia on Friday?"
"I hope that you drill in with the same detail with his team as you are drilling in with ours. We released the information as soon as we put when this happen on Sunday," Mook responded.
Earlier on Monday the Clinton campaign announced that they would be releasing more extensive medical records on Hillary Clinton later this week.
