Drapes for an event at the United Nations for President Obama last week cost taxpayers over $5,000.
The New York Decorating Company provided rental for drapes, risers, and carpeting for a "meet and greet" according to a government contract. The contract was signed Sept. 30.
The government paid $5,390 for the drapery and staging. The contract was likely for a meet and greet with U.N. employees and their families on Sept. 27, which was closed to the press.
Obama also met with Cuban President Raul Castro and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the U.N. General Assembly.
