Mark Warner Dodges Questions About New Ad

October 22, 2014

Sen. Mark Warner (D., Va.) dodged questions from Washington Post reporter Laura Vozzella after she asked him about his new attack ad on Republican challenger Ed Gillespie.

The ad received three 'Pinocchios' from the Washington Post for dubious accusations that Gillespie's firm lobbied for a foreign dictator.

Vozzella approached Warner before a meeting at the Five-Diamond Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Va. to ask him about the ad, but in true Warner fashion, the embattled senator dodged the press.

"Senator, can I ask you about your new ad?" Vozzella asked. "I'm Laura, from the Post."

"I know, I'm gonna go up and--gotta make a call at five," Warner said. "All right? I got a conference call."

Warner has repeatedly avoided the press since news broke about his involvement in a Virginia judgeship scandal.
