Mark Udall’s Son Pleads Guilty to Breaking Into Cars

Heroin Charge Thrown Out

Jedediah Fox-Udall, the son of Democratic Sen. Mark Udall (Colo.), pleaded guilty on Thursday to burglary and breaking into cars after being high on heroin, though his drug possession charge was thrown out.

The Daily Camera reports:

Fox-Udall, 26, entered his plea in Boulder District Court and was sentenced to four years of supervision. If he stays out of trouble and meets the terms of his supervision, including paying restitution, the case will be dismissed and he will not be convicted.

Fox-Udall pleaded guilty to two felonies — burglary and auto trespass.

In a statement released after the hearing, Fox-Udall said: "I fully accept responsibility for my actions. I am deeply sorry for the toll they have taken on the individuals impacted in this incident, and my family and friends. I am continuing to work on learning from my mistakes and will put in the work going forward that is necessary and required of me. I am committed to putting my life back into healthy balance."

Fox-Udall was originally arrested on suspicion of four counts of first-degree trespassing and a single count possession of a controlled substance. Officers found heroin in his pocket at the time of his arrest.
