Fox News host Sean Hannity dissed the #BringBackOurGirls Twitter campaign Monday on On The Record.
Hannity questioned the usefulness of the campaign, noting "terrorists don't read Twitter."
Host Greta Van Susteren disagreed, telling her fellow FNC anchor she believes social media campaigns help generate "noise" that can influence the White House and Capitol Hill.
"You might be right on your point," Hannity said. "You have to think 'how do our enemies view this?' And I'm thinking if they do hear about it, they don't care in the least."
"Not in the least?" Van Susteren questioningly replied.
Hannity said if the media really wanted to stand up to female abuse in the Muslim world they would call out radical Islam and Sharia Law's brutal treatment of women and minorities.
"If we really cared about that then maybe we would identify certain incidents for what they are. And that would mean the president could have, instead of apologizing in Cairo for America could have spoken out against radical Islam. We could have called Fort Hood not 'workplace violence' but an 'act of terror.' We could stop using these ridiculous euphemisms like 'man caused disasters' and 'overseas contingency operations.'"
