Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch- the organization responsible for suing the White House and subsequently obtaining never before seen Benghazi emails- called on Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) and Democrats Thursday to stand up to President Obama and request that he release more information about the attack.
Interviewed by Gretchen Carlson on The Real Story, he also took issue with White House Press Secretary Jay Carney’s blatant denial that the emails turned over to Judicial Watch were about Benghazi.
Carney told journalists Wednesday that the newly released emails were about protests in the Middle East, not the Benghazi attacks specifically. The emails showed Obama administration officials conspiring to protect Obama from backlash against his inaction regarding the attacks.
Fitton refuted Carney’s claims, telling Carlson, "The fact is Susan Rice evidently was briefed using that document and that document that wasn’t about Benghazi – the points on it- Susan Rice used to talk about Benghazi. She used all those points that Jay Carney says wasn’t about Benghazi and used it to explain the Benghazi attack in a false way, obviously."
He also responded to claims made by Pelosi hat there have not been any new, credible developments regarding Benghazi. "Benghazi, Benghazi, Benghazi. Why aren’t we talking about something else? Whatever was in that — what I know of what I’ve read in the press about those emails was very consistent with what was put out there before. I don’t think there’s anything new there," she said Thursday at her weekly press briefing.
"For Nancy Pelosi, as a member of Congress, to treat as a nonissue Congress’ investigation being thwarted and obstructed, is really terrible," Fitton said.
He continued to express his outrage.
"Nancy Pelosi and honest Democrats need to say to President Obama and the Obama administration ‘Own up, release all the info, and stop messing with us," he said.
