When the pro-Constitution Koch brothers donate money to political campaigns, the President and his administration rarely miss a chance to label it as "dirty money". So why has the White House remained silent after liberal billionaire Tom Steyer pledged to donate $100 million to candidates who will fight climate change?
"[Steyer] is putting up $50 million and get matched by another $50 million. And we won’t hear the cries from the White House about this 'outside dirty money' that you hear everytime a conservative does it," Lowry told Fox News Wednesday.
Responding to Steyer’s claims that opposition to the Keystone pipeline is a winning issue, Lowry said, "Yeah that’s complete nonsense," noting that a large majority of Americans are in favor of building the pipeline, especially in states represented by vulnerable Democrats. "Where it is a winner is raising money for the left."
Lowry noted that despite many Senate Democrats’ support for the Keystone project, coupled with the State Department report that claimed their would be little negative environmental impact, the Obama administration was delaying action to court Steyer and his checkbook.
