Barber: The Uninsured Do Not Like Obamacare

WFB Writer: Uninsured expected Obamacare to be cheaper than it really is

Reporter for The Washington Free Beacon Ellison Barber discussed a recent survey which indicated uninsured Americans do not like Obamacare Thursday with Eric Bolling on Fox News.

Barber noted many of the uninsured are discovering Obamacare is not as cheap as advertised. Subsidies only cover up to 400 percent of the federal poverty line, so families with larger expenses but who surpass that income threshold will get stuck with bigger price tags for health insurance. The Free Beacon writer ran through a number of plausible scenarios where lower and middle income Americans could find themselves looking at higher premiums.

Moreover, Bolling pointed out even the cheapest bronze Obamacare plans still carry extremely high deductibles and suggested that may also be a contributing factor to much of the dissatisfaction with the ACA. Barber agreed, adding families on tight budgets balk at expensive premiums when they would still be responsible for massive out of pocket costs.
