Somebody’s got a serious case of sticky fingers!
Laurie Ruth Chester of Warrenton, Oregon, had police chasing after her following a series of wacky antics.
She began her theft spree at Subway. An employee at the sandwich shop contacted police to report that she had stolen $13 from their tip jar and then attempted to use the stolen money to pay for her $12.75 meal.
The police went to Subway, but Chester was long gone. The North Coast Fred Meyer reported a theft soon after, and Rite Aid also reported a disturbance.
She then headed to Home Depot where she took a ride on a motorized shopping cart filled with merchandise, quickly exiting the home improvement store on the scooter and heading for the highway where police found her and arrested her. Police found stolen Petco merchandise in her possession as well.
Chester has been charged with two counts of third-degree theft, first-degree theft, and disorderly conduct.
