When Kamala Harris ran for president in 2020, she expressed support for taxpayer-funded sex-change surgeries and transgender treatments for illegal immigrants, according to a questionnaire then-senator Harris filled out at the time.

In the 2019 American Civil Liberties Union questionnaire distributed to all Democratic and GOP presidential candidates, Harris said she would use her executive authority to ensure that "transgender and nonbinary people … including those in prison and immigration detention" have access to "comprehensive treatment associated with gender transition," CNN reported Monday.

"I support policies ensuring that federal prisoners and detainees are able to obtain medically necessary care for gender transition, including surgical care, while incarcerated or detained," Harris wrote in the questionnaire. "Transition treatment is a medical necessity, and I will direct all federal agencies responsible for providing essential medical care to deliver transition treatment."

Harris’s resurfaced sentiments come as her campaign works to distance the vice president from her far-left record. Since launching her 2024 campaign, the Democratic presidential nominee has walked back several of her progressive priorities and flipped on numerous policy positions, such as banning fracking and opposing the border wall.

When asked about her policy flip-flops in an interview with CNN last month, Harris responded, "My values have not changed."

In the 2019 questionnaire, Harris also expressed support for decriminalizing drug possession for personal use, prioritizing citizenship for the 11 million people in the country illegally, and significantly reducing Immigration and Custom Enforcement operations.
