A New Hampshire Democratic state representative was arrested over the weekend for a barroom brawl at a social club with his ex-wife and another man, the Associated Press reports:
Democrat Patrick Garrity also is a Manchester firefighter. He was arrested over the weekend.
Police say he pushed his ex-wife and the man at the Fish and Game Social Club on Sunday and punched the man.
Garrity has pleaded not guilty to assault charges.
Fellow politicians are calling for him to resign.
Republican House Speaker Bill O'Brien says politicians can't get involved in barroom fights.
