Former Governor of Vermont Hoard Dean (D., Vt.) was coy when asked if he was running for president in 2016 by Lawrence O'Donnell Thursday evening on "The Last Word."

Dean said "for the time being" he supports Hillary Clinton:

LAWRENCE O'DONNELL: Governor Dean, quickly, before you go, you made a trip to Iowa recently, which provoked a lot of questions about "is Howard Dean running for president?" And so this is as good a time as any to announce, we can make some real news here tonight.

HOWARD DEAN: Well, no, Lawrence, I'm not going to announce anything. It is much too early to think about that. For the time being, I'm going to support Hillary Clinton. I am making a lot of trips throughout because I want to take back state legislatures. I was in Utah, in Iowa, I'm going to New Hampshire and Virginia and a few other states. But I'm not allowed to do that list thing anymore.
