Union Begs Obama, Congress for Right to Keep Insurance

The Nevada state AFL-CIO passed a resolution Wednesday calling for President Barack Obama and Congress to uphold their promise and allow union members to keep their current health care plans under Obamacare.

The resolution cites the union’s "strong political and moral support" for the Affordable Care Act as one reason the president should keep his promise.

The union says it has sought answers from the Obama administration and Congress as to whether members will be able to keep their current plans, but it has so far received no response.

Additionally, the union questions why some groups are receiving special treatment.

"Congress and the administration have demonstrated they have the authority and power to make dozens of other corrections to the ACA, including taking care of big business and well-paid Congressional staff members, but have yet to provide our unions with any relief to allow our healthcare plans to continue as they have for over 65 years," the resolution states.
