Secretary of State Mike Pompeo hinted Tuesday at the possibility that he will testify as part of Congress's impeachment investigation into President Donald Trump.

Asked during off-the-cuff remarks to reporters at the State Department about calls for him to testify before Congress, Pompeo dodged the question, but left the door open to his potential participation.

Trump tweeted earlier Tuesday that he would encourage Pompeo to testify before Congress as part of its impeachment probe.

"When the time is right, all good things happen," Pompeo said in response to questions about the president's tweet.

The State Department released last week roughly 100 pages of internal documents, a portion of which show that Pompeo engaged in at least two conversations with Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani in the lead up to U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch being removed from her post.
