After a prayer in the Jordanian Parliament for the terrorists who attacked a Jerusalem synagogue November 18, two Jordanian MPs voiced their support for incitement against Israel.
Bassam Al-Manaseer, chairman of the parliamentary international affairs committee, said that referring to the perpetrators as "terrorists" is akin to calling the French that fought the Nazis "terrorists."
"If this is terrorism, we are terrorists," MP Khalil Attieh, a colleague of Al-Manaseer, said.
Attieh went on to express his hatred of the Jewish people.
"Hating the Jews is a great honor for me and it makes me walk with my head high, because they are worthy of hatred," Attieh said. "Any man of honor should hate the Jews."
Meanwhile, Jen Psaki said on Monday that the State Department is not concerned about the Jordanian Parliament’s support for the terrorists, and that the State Department does not expect the Jordanian people to follow up with more anti-Israeli incitement.
"I don’t think that’s a concern we’ve expressed from here," Psaki said. "They have been an important party in moving towards a peaceful outcome in the region."
President Obama is expected to meet with Jordan’s King Abdullah II sometime this week to discuss the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
