Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz is failing to deliver original rhetoric against her Republican foes. On two occasions she charged that Republican governors insulted women with the "back of [their] hands."
Wasserman Schultz, the congresswoman for Florida's 23rd district, was forced to apologize earlier this month after she accused Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker of using the back of his hand against women. Politico reported:
"Scott Walker has given women the back of his hand. I know that is stark. I know that is direct. But that is reality," Wasserman Schultz said during a roundtable meeting in Wisconsin.
At Charlie Crist's primary victory party a month before, the chairwoman made a similar remark against Florida Gov. Rick Scott.
Wasserman Schultz applauded Crist, a former Republican, and slammed Scott. "It's Charlie Crist, the Democrat, that had my back," she said. "Rick Scott has given us the back of his hand."
Wassermann Schultz made headlines last week when Politico reported that many Democratic leaders, including those in the White House, doubted her ability to lead the party.
