Rep. Tom Price (R., Ga.) is being considered to serve as the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services in President-elect Donald Trump's administration, Politico reported.
An early Trump supporter, Price is an orthopedic surgeon who has touted the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and introduced a replacement plan in 2009 and 2010.
"Tom Price has been loyal to Donald Trump from the outset and his knowledge of health care is second to none," a Republican source told Politico. "Him being in contention for HHS secretary makes perfect sense."
According to the article, former Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal is also being considered.
