Bill Clinton was hailed as a secret weapon for President Obama's re-election bid in 2012, but his surrogacy for his wife in 2016 has received a considerably more mixed reception.
Clinton has ripped Obamacare, a law Hillary Clinton has openly praised, as "the craziest thing in the world," dismissed Donald Trump supporters as "your standard redneck," and gaffed that the last eight years under Obama were "awful."
He has also slammed "coal people" voting for Trump, said Obama is not a "change-maker," accidentally said his wife "frequently" had fainting spells over the years like she had at the 9/11 memorial, and called the email investigation into his wife "the biggest load of bull I ever heard."
In addition, Clinton's checkered-at-best sexual past with women has haunted his wife's campaign as she has tried to make the case against Trump, who himself has been accused by multiple women of sexual misconduct.
