Rubio Plays Word Association Game With Hillary Clinton: 'Desperate,' 'Panicked,' 'Experienced Liar'

August 28, 2015

Sen. Marco Rubio (R., Fla.) played the word association game Friday on Fox & Friends, saying the first words that came to mind when he thought of Hillary Clinton after her controversial remarks Thursday were "desperate," "panicked" and "experienced liar."

Clinton, under fire for comparing pro-life Republicans to terrorist groups, is also beset by the private email scandal that has dogged her since March. A Quinnipiac poll this week showed the top words voters associated her with were "liar," "dishonest" and "untrustworthy."

Fox host Elisabeth Hasselbeck asked Rubio, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination and frequent target of Clinton's rhetoric, to play the word association game as well and he didn't mince words.

"Desperate," he said. "Maybe panicked. Desperate. One of those words. They're in a lot of trouble."

The show put on the word cloud graphic that showed the three negative words above, in addition to words like "experienced" and "strong."

"I guess an experienced liar is probably the word cloud if you were to put it together," Rubio said. "Here's the bottom line. Those aren't the kinds of words people put on their campaign pamphlets ... She's lost credibility and rightfully so."
