An email in the WikiLeaks archive on Hillary Clinton reveals that long-time Clinton aide Huma Abedin reminded Clinton of a meeting with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and told the secretary of state to take a nap, the Daily Caller reported Tuesday.
The email with no message in the body and just a subject line was sent at 2:21 p.m. on January 11, 2013, and Clinton’s meeting was scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
Clinton responded that she would try to take a nap and asked if Abedin could "send Monica or someone back to pick up some urgent matters."
The Daily Caller reported that Abedin often emailed concerns about Clinton’s wellbeing. Abedin, Clinton’s closest aide, almost broke into tears when she learned that Clinton once carried her own bag up a flight of stairs because no aide was there, according to a Newsweek profile on Abedin.
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and his surrogates have voiced their skepticism over Clinton’s health and wellbeing on the campaign trail. Since the beginning of his campaign, Trump has called Clinton low-energy and implied that as soon as she finishes campaigning, she goes back and takes a nap.
"She’ll go home and take a nap for four or five hours," Trump said at a campaign rally in Virginia.
Trump has maintained that he does not take a nap on the campaign trail.
