MSNBC's Morning Joe panel mostly agreed Wednesday morning that the process for nominating the Democratic Party's nominee for president has gotten "ugly" and been rigged for Hillary Clinton.
"This has gone off the rails," host Joe Scarborough said. "It's gotten really ugly."
"Bernie keeps using the phrase 'rigged.' It has been rigged. It only enhances his accomplishment, what he has done," panelist Mike Barnicle said.
Over the weekend, the Democratic Party of Nevada held their convention to assign the remaining delegates, but Sen. Bernie Sanders' (I., Vt.) supporters interrupted the process with chants, throwing chairs and threats of violence against the chairwoman of the state's party.
Sanders did not immediately come out and condemn the violence. Democratic National Committee chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) accused the Sanders campaign of excusing the behavior of his supporters. The campaign later issued a letter where it condemned all forms of violence but did not apologize.
"The fact that the Sanders campaign has issued a 'but' in between condemnation of violence and frustration over the process seems to excuse their supporters' actions, which is unacceptable," Schultz said.
Mika Brzezinski took issue with what Schultz said and said that the system that she had put in place since the beginning was meant to be a coronation for Clinton.
"Hillary Clinton has had every advantage, every break given to her from the very beginning by this Democratic party. It has been rigged," Scarborough said.
The panel went on to discuss the current dynamics in the Democratic party and certain topics that were main discussions within the party that have fallen away because of the Clintons.
