Harrington: Hillary More Comfortable At a Fundraising Dinner Than Doing Real Campaigning

Washington Free Beacon reporter Liz Harrington appeared on Lou Dobbs Tonight Thursday to discuss Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton's struggles in the polls even as she appears to coast toward clinching her party's nomination.

"I think she is in a good deal of trouble, when you look at her favorability numbers now," she said. "I think the campaign realizes that. They want to coast along, stay out of the spotlight, don't take questions from the press and try to let these scandals surrounding the Clinton Foundation go away and make herself this champion for everyday Americans. The problem is, she's not going out there to talk with everyday Americans ... She's raising all this money. When she has to raise $2.5 billion and she's doing a fundraiser every 36 hours, it's because she's more comfortable at a fundraising dinner than she is going out and campaigning and giving speeches and talking to the press."

Harrington also discussed the large field of GOP candidates, which former Texas Gov. Rick Perry joined Thursday, saying it's a "good thing for the GOP overall" to have a diverse pool of potential nominees.
