The now-infamous meeting in which Donald Trump Jr. sought incriminating information about Hillary Clinton was attended by one more person than previously thought.
Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya, who met with President Donald Trump's son on the promise of providing the information, was accompanied in that meeting by a Russian-American lobbyist who is also a former Soviet counter intelligence official, NBC News reports.
The lobbyist, whom NBC is not naming, is suspected by some U.S. officials of still having ties to Russian intelligence. He served in the Soviet military before emigrating to the United States, and now holds dual citizenship.
Veselnitskaya confirmed to NBC that she was accompanied by at least one other person. She would not confirm that person's identity.
NBC sought but did not receive comment from Trump Jr.'s representatives, as well as others present at the meeting.
Trump Jr. has been the subject of much scrutiny since revealing that he took the meeting with Veselnitskaya last June, after being told that she could provide him with incriminating information about then-presidential opponent Hillary Clinton.
Trump Jr. had previously failed to disclose the presence of the Russian lobbyist, although he had publicly stated that he was joined in the meeting by Trump adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner and Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort.
