Former Obama Chief of Staff William Daley said Sunday that he had no idea Hillary Clinton used a private e-mail server as Secretary of State when he was serving in the White House.
Radio host Hugh Hewitt asked Daley about it on Meet the Press, wondering whether Daley would have required her to remove it from her home if he'd known.
"Obviously, it was something that I did not know and others didn't, but she followed the rules of the State Department, and we're beyond that," he said.
"So you had no idea at all that there was a server over at the Clintons' residence?" Hewitt asked.
"No," Daley retorted. "How would I know that?"
Hewitt said he thought the Chief of Staff might be privy to that information.
