Donald Trump Addresses Supporters After Indiana Win

May 3, 2016

Republican Party frontrunner Donald Trump spoke in New York after a resounding victory in Indiana's primary Tuesday evening, thanking his supporters as he essentially wrapped up the nomination.

Trump's speech came moments after competitor Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas) suspended his campaign for president. Ohio Gov. John Kasich, the only other remaining Republican candidate, says that he will still remain in the race, but he has won just one primary to date: Ohio's.

Trump, meanwhile, has rolled to victory after victory since losing to Cruz in Wisconsin in April. The brash businessman upended the political establishment after announcing his candidacy in June, and after Tuesday, even RNC chairman Reince Priebus declared him the presumptive nominee.

The billionaire thanked all of the people that have supported him and said that what Cruz did was a "very brave thing."

He also highlighted his favorite thing, winning.

"I won with women. I love winning with women but I won with women. We won with men. We won with Hispanics. We won with African-Americans. We won with virtually every category. So it's just been an amazing evening," Trump said.

"So again I want to congratulate Ted Cruz. He is a tough, smart competitor. I want to thank my wife and my family. It's an incredible family. I want to thank my staff, both my staff and the thousands and thousands of those who work for the Trump organization."
