During Hillary Clinton’s exclusive interview with CNN on Tuesday evening, she claimed she never received a subpoena from Select House Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy (R., S.C.), who is investigating the 2012 terrorist attack in Benghazi that killed four Americans.
CNN senior Washington correspondent Jeff Zeleny said that it was not true Wednesday, as Gowdy published the subpoena he had sent Clinton on March 4.
"But to state that you never received a subpoena, you did get one in March. Couldn’t be more plain, ‘The Honorable Hillary R. Clinton," Gowdy said as he showed Zeleny a copy of the document.
During Clinton’s interview she got defensive and accused interviewer Brianna Keilar of making assumptions and stood by her defense that she followed the law.
