Clinton: Let's Not Get Distracted by Emails Before Election Day

October 31, 2016

Hillary Clinton told supporters to not get distracted by the controversy surrounding her private email server before Election Day during a campaign event in Ohio on Monday.

"In these last days, let's not get distracted from the real choice in this election and the consequences for your future," Clinton said.

The distraction Clinton was referring to was the controversy surrounding her use of a private email server during her tenure as secretary of state. FBI Director James Comey sent a letter to Congress on Friday informing legislators that the bureau discovered new emails related to her server use and will reopen its investigation, setting off a political firestorm.

The emails were found on a device during an investigation into former New York Rep. Anthony Weiner's alleged sexting with an underage female. The device in question was shared between Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin, a top Clinton aide.
