In the latest example of Obamacare’s harmful effect on American small businesses, Simonetta’s Collision Repair Center, a small business in Pennsylvania, is seeing huge premium and deductible increases for its employees’ health insurance plans, WTAE-PA reports.
Last year’s premium increase of 6% jumped fivefold to a 32% increase this year. The employees with children had their deductibles doubled from $2000-$4000. Co-pays would rise from $20 to $40.
"They call it the ‘Affordable Health Plan’. There’s nothing affordable about it. I can’t afford it," Jeff, one of Simonetta’s employees, said.
The owner of the small business, Gary Simonetta, saw his premium surge by over $500 per month, an increase of 63%.
Judy, another employee, whose premium jumped from $900 to over $1300 per month, wondered, "I don’t know how President Obama thinks that he’s helping us. We can’t afford this. We can’t afford to pay these co-pays, or these deductibles, on what we’re making."
