One-Third of Those Signed Up for Insurance Under Obamacare Affected by Errors

December 3, 2013

Errors have affected roughly one-third of the people who think they have successfully signed up for health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act since Oct. 1, the Washington Post reports.

The White House said the one-third number is false, but declined to give the Post its own figure.

Several different errors are affecting users, including "failure to notify insurers about new customers, duplicate enrollments or cancellation notices for the same person, incorrect information about family members, and mistakes involving federal subsidies."

The White House’s new goal is fixing errors that have already occurred and preventing future errors on the site.

The White House announced Sunday that it had successfully met its Nov. 30 goal to fix the bugs plaguing the Obamacare website.

However, users continued to report problems.
