O'Donnell's full 'Rewrite' diatribe focused on a vague parallel between taxpayer financed football stadiums and the recently passed Farm Bill.
In a fairly hilarious attempt to paint the former Bronco quarterback as a hypocrite, O'Donnell played a clip of Elway saying "I don't believe in safety nets," before cutting the clip off.
What O'Donnell did not show his viewers was Elway in literally the same breath qualifying his statement by saying "obviously we've got to have some kind of safety net":
