The New York Times has joined the Washington Post Wednesday in hosting the paid advertisement supplement from China Watch, which has been affiliated with China Daily, a known supporter of the Chinese regime.
The China Watch supplement in the New York Times is similar to the Post in looking like a typical section of the newspaper. Articles have formal headlines, bylines, and special sections. Along the top of the page in small print is an advertiser notification.
Wednesday’s supplement included two stories regarding environmental improvements in China after numerous reports of high levels of pollution in the past months. One article in the China Watch supplement focused on Chinese companies taking ‘green solutions’ to the global market. Another article focused on the revitalization of the Xiaocheng River.
The Washington Free Beacon has previously reported concerns regarding the Chinese governments influence on China Watch.
