Successful US Airdrop For Refugees Fleeing Islamic State Terrorists

October 28, 2014

U.S. Central Command released a video Tuesday showing a humanitarian aid air drop near the Al Asad Airbase in Iraq.

A U.S. Air Force C-130 dropped packages containing 7,000 halal meals for members of the Iraqi Albu Nimr tribe. These meals were retrieved by Iraqi Security Forces and delivered to the tribe members, who recently fled their homes to avoid Islamic State aggression.

Not all air drops have been successful. As previously reported by the Free Beacon, U.S. military payloads containing weapons for Kurdish rebels missed their drop zones and landed in the hands of IS miliants.
