An Israeli man was able to stab his terrorist attacker to death after retrieving the terrorist's knife from his own neck on Tuesday.
The attack occurred in the Israeli city of Petah Tikva. An Arab man followed the Israeli man into a store and began stabbing him in the upper body, the Times of Israel reports. The Israeli, with help from the store owner, was able to fight back against the assailant.
It was at that point that the Israeli man reportedly "regained composure" and was able to pull the terrorist's knife from where it had become lodged in his own neck. He then stabbed the terrorist to death with it.
The Israeli man's wounds were described as moderate. His wounds do not appear to be life-threatening.
The attack was part of a string of terrorist attacks throughout the country on Tuesday. Another assailant was killed in a shootout with police in Jerusalem after he opened fire on a pair of police officers near the Damascus Gate in a drive-by style attack. That area, in particular, has been a hotspot of attacks in recent month with the gate seeing stabbings, shootings, and bombings.
The attacks on Tuesday are also a part of an increased effort on the part of Islamic extremists to stab Israelis. There have been dozens of terror-related stabbings across the country in the past year. Soldiers, police, and civilians have all been targeted. As with Tuesday's attacks, many victims have fought back against their attackers.
