Once again, the Obama foreign policy appears to be leading from behind.
Fox News' Ed Henry peppered White House press secretary Josh Earnest with questions about the United States’ role in preventing a possible genocide situation in Iraq.
Tens of thousands of Iraqi Christians and ethnic minorities are facing potential slaughter by Islamist militants and the White House refused to say how it will take action to prevent potential bloodshed.
Henry asked Earnest, "Is preventing a genocide in America’s core interests? "I mean, that’s a pretty basic question," he said and posed the question again.
Earnest dodged the question and instead replied that the United States "has been and will continue to be a beacon of freedom and respect for basic human rights around the globe," and called it "a founding principle" of our country.
Henry pressed further and repeated his initial question "Is preventing genocide in America’s core interests?"
"Each of these situations is evaluated on a case-by-case basis," Earnest answered.
