Marine Vet Loses Fight to Fly American, Marine Corps Flags

A retired Georgia Marine is not allowed to fly both an America and a Marine Corps flag outside his home in a retirement community, Fox News reports.

The Board of Directors at a Griffin retirement community voted against changing a rule on outside decorations.

Sun City-Peachtree's codes state that each home in the retirement community can only have one flag, but [Marine Capt. Jim] Lowe fought the rule, arguing that the traditional Marine Corps battle color is not a flag.

Lowe told [MyFoxAtlanta.com] in July that he received a code violation notice from management informing him that he and his wife would face fines of up to $25 a day and a possible lien on his home if he did not remove one of the flags.

Lowe told MyFox Atlanta that he and his wife would be moving out of the community.
