Marine Corps Commandant: 'Save Every Round, Every Gallon of Gas'

Marine Corps Commandant James Amos explains how the marines will adapt to their changing financial landscape as sequestration begins to take effect in a video released Friday.

"I ask you to save every round, every gallon of gas. That you take every single aspect or opportunity in training to get the most bang for the buck," Amos explains. "This is no time to do business as usual. Things have changed. The landscape has changed."

The Marines are slated to lose $1.4 billion, or 6 percent, from their current fiscal year's budget due to sequestration.
